Day 1 Saigon Arrival

Welcome to Vietnam’s modern metropolis: Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). Arrive in the late evening and enjoy an orientation tour through Saigon’s bustling streets en route to the hotel. Our private tour guide and driver from Cyclo Travel & Leisure will greet you at airport and transfer your family to your hotel in the city center. Day 3 Cu Chi Tunnels Half-day + Saigon City Tour Half-day

Cu Chi Tunnels are a network of underground tunnels begun in 1948 by the Viet Minh in their struggle against the French. These tunnels were expanded and used by the Viet Cong during the war between Vietnam and America. Americans called this the 'Iron Triangle' and was a stronghold of the Vietcong for almost thirty years

Depart from your hotel early in the morning for Cu Chi to visit the Tunnels. Walk underground in the tunnels.

Back to the city for lunch.

Then continue on the city tour with a visit to the War Remnants museum and former Presidential Palace. We conclude the day exploring the city’s French colonial architecture, stopping at the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Post Office. Day 4 Saigon transfer to Cai Be -  Cruise from Cai Be to Can Tho with a visit to Cai Rang Floating Market

Transfer from your hotel to Cai Be. You board your comfortable river cruiser in Cai Be. After a refreshing welcome drink we show you our on-board facilities and your cosy cabin. As lunch is served, the boat starts cruising. Sit back and watch the fantastic scenery and the daily life of the Mekong Delta people.

In the afternoon you can disembark for a guided leisurely stroll through a village and the surrounding fruit orchards or rice fields. Meet the friendly locals and taste the local produce and fruits.

Get back on board and enjoy a drink at the bar or relax on deck as the sun sets over the magnificent water landscape of the Mekong river. The cruise boat will anchor for the night. The day ends with a delicious on-board dinner. You stay overnight on board on your comfortable river cruiser.

Day 5 Can Tho - Cai Rang floating market - back to Saigon

On day 2 you wake up well rested to the sound of the river and get ready for another exciting day of sightseeing in the Mekong Delta. At 6.30h the cruise vessel sets off for a sunrise cruise. Watch the locals go about their daily work drying exotic fruits and building ships on the wooden yards while enjoying an early breakfast.

After breakfast, we will board a sampan boat to Cai Rang floating market, the region’s busiest and most lively markets. Marvel at the sheer abundance of exotic fruits, vegetables and skilfully handcrafted regional products. We will pull up to the boats for talking and bargaining with the merchants. After the excursion to the market it is time to start the journey back to Saigon. From Can Tho we travel by road back to Saigon. Overnight in Saigon

Day 6 Saigon – Danang – Hoi An

After breakfast, you are transferred to the airport for your internal flight to Danang. Your guide and driver will meet you at the airport and take you on the short drive to the sleepy riverside town, Hoi An. Take a half-day walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the ancient quarter, visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, the Chinese Assembly Hall, the 200-year old Tam Ky ancestral house and the famous Japanese Bridge. Overnight in Hoi An

Day 7  Hoi An Day Tour - Fishing + Farming + Cooking

Pick up at your hotel and drive to Tra Que village ( about 15km)- more than 500 farmers live there and cultivate about 20 kinds of vegetables and herbs including mint, lettuce, basil, cilantro, broccoli among over 50 hectares of land, 10 tons of vegetables are sold every year. Arrive in Tra Que, stroll through the village, where you will be in contact with local people working in the gardens. You will learn all about the history of the village, the use of medicinal plants, and participate in gardening activities. Continuing the trip  through in the paddy field, to the local market Ba Le, the fishing village of Van Lang and the Bay Mau water coconut forest. , along the way you will stop and try a water buffalo riding in the middle of the rice paddy and take the photography

Arrive at the village; you will be warmly welcomed at Mr.Hung family. The fishermen will take you to discover their techniques of traditional fisheries and take a boat to visit the forest of coconut palm by “Basket boat” – Thuyen Thung.

After that, return to the Mr Hung’s home to prepare lunch with his family and you will taste the dishes you’ve prepared. After lunch, relaxing feet massage with herbal medicines and you will be relaxed in the shade of coconut water and drive back to Hoi An. Overnight in Hoi An

Day 8 Hoi An – Danang – Hue

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel then check-out and drive over the 500m-high Hai Van pass to Hue. Enjoy a stop at the scenic Lang Co Beach for a drink before continuing on to Hue - a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Vietnam’s former capital. Spend the afternoon on a leisurely walking tour through the ancient city. Visit the Royal Citadel, the Imperial Museum, as well as the Mausoleum of King Tu Duc (a replica of the king’s palace built for the next reincarnation of the king). Overnight in Hue

Day 9 Hue – Fly to Hanoi

Day 10 Hanoi City Tour One Day

Today you have a full day to explore Vietnam’s charming capital with Cyclo Travel & Leisure. With its wide tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and ancient oriental pagodas; Hanoi is an eclectic mix that offers something for everyone. Your city tour will take you to Hanoi’s key sites: the Ho Chi Minh Complex (Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and stilt house), the Presidential Palace, the nearby One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, and one of the city's museums (a choice among the History Museum, The Hanoi Hilton prison, and the Ethnology Museum). Later in the afternoon, enjoy an hour cyclo ride around old quarter and a traditional Water Puppet Performance – a unique Vietnamese art form hailing from Southeast Asia’s wet-rice culture. Day 11  Biking day tour to Bat Trang ceramic village

You will be met up with an private English-speaking guide at our bike store. He will give a short briefing about the bikes such as how to change the speed drivetrain (there are 24-speed drivetrain). The guide will then also give information about the biking trail, you can try to test our bikes riding for some rounds before starting our outdoor adventure.  Begin your day tour by cycling along the Red River dyke, taking the Long Bien bridge, formerly known as the Paul Doumer Bridge – was one of the greatest engineering accomplishments of the French colony and a showpiece of colonial infrastructure.

After crossing the Red River, you continue riding along the dyke for some kilometres before joining a small biking trail that furrows among popcorn, vegetable and fruit gardens. You mostly cycle on the back roads amidst the wild nature.

After about two-hour cycling, you arrive in Bat Trang village, a small village in the north of Vietnam, is about 13 kilometres southeast of Hanoi centre, on the other side of the Red River. The village is famous for ceramic and pottery products of high quality.

Have lunch at the village by your own account (local lunch will be not very expensive, about 4 USD/person, our guide will give you recommendations)

After lunch, you will have a short walk to visit the village, discovering the village ceramic market, the Bat Trang temple, Bat Trang communal house. Discover the real life as you walk through tiny alleys that furrow continuously right and left.

Before taking the ride back, you stop by a local workshop where you learn all the steps of making a pottery. You have the opportunity to make your own pottery before saying goodbye your “teacher” and enjoy two more hour cycling back to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi

Day 12 Hanoi – Halong Bay – Overnight on cruise

You are picked up from your hotels in Hanoi for 2.5 hour driving on 5B highway to the Got Harbor in Hai Phong Province for the cruise.
12:00 – 12:30: Tender will transfer you to embark Calypso Cruises. You will be served with a welcome drink and a towel.
Followed by our cruise briefing where you will also be given safety instructions before checking into your cabins. While the cruise sailing, you enjoy a bon-appetite lunch and being impressed by the beauty of hundreds of karst islands on your way passing Halong Bay to Lan Ha Bay.
15:00: Visit Light and Dark Water Cave, where you can do kayaking or bamboo boat rowed by local people.
17:30: Return to Calypso Cruise. It’s time to admire the magnificent sunset over the Gulf of Tonkin and enjoy happy hour (buy 2, get 1 more free).
You take part in cooking demonstration to learn our Vietnamese cuisine.
19:00: A great dinner awaits you.
20:30 – 22:00: Your free time to enjoy the landscapes of the Bay on the top deck, sing karaoke, enjoy ordered drinks from the bar, try your luck at squid fishing or just relax in your cabins, etc.

Day 13 Lan Ha Bay - Cat Ba Island

Today we shall have a deeper exploration of Lan Ha Bay using our small day-boat cruising through the multiple islands & islets, hidden beaches… also a short visit on bicycles to Viet Hai village, an isolated village in the very heart of Cat Ba National Park.

06:30: Wake up early to enjoy the dawn and start a perfect new day with Tai Chi exercise on the sundeck.

7:00 – 8:00: Have a light breakfast in the restaurant.

8:30: You get picked up by a small day boat and cruise through Lan Ha Bay before disembarking at Viet Hai dock.

9:30: Go cycling a short trip of 5km to Viet Hai – a small village in the midst of the jungle, surrounded by the high mountain range of Cat Ba National Park. The area has become popular with foreign tourists, without attracting the mass tourism.

11:00: Return by bicycle to the dock and board our dayboat again to sail further to the other side of Lan Ha Bay.

12:00: Arrival at Van Boi area. The day boat anchors for a peaceful lunch.

13:00-15:40:  Kayaking around Van Boi area. Then we move on to Ba Trai Dao (Three Peaches) Beach.You are free to swim in this beautiful & clean area.

16:00: Return to Calypso Cruise. Enjoy the happy hours on Sundeck or relaxing in your cabins.

19 00: Dinner in the Dining Hall and enjoy the activities on board.

Day 14 Cat Ba Island - Hanoi

06:30: Wake up early to enjoy the dawn and start a perfect new day with Tai Chi exercise on the sundeck.

7:00 – 7:45: Have a light breakfast in the restaurant.

8:00: Then you take a bus route for about 20 minutes on Cat Ba Island from Gia Luan Pier to visit Army Hospital Cave, a special place to save the significant Vietnamese history during the resistance war. During the travel, you will be immersed in the wild fresh natural scenery of Cat Ba National Park.

10:00: Back to Calypso Cruise.  Check out your cabin.

You have lunch while the Calypso Cruise back to the harbor.

12:00: Disembark Calypso Cruise and return to Hanoi.

14:30 – 15:00: You arrive at Hanoi. End the trip. Overnight in Hanoi
